At SSMC, every career journey is unique and rewarding. We're looking for innovative, passionate, and talented people like you to join our team.

We’re searching for an Engineer/ Senior Engineer to be part of our Quality & Reliability Department diverse team of talent. You will be responsible to design and execute comprehensive reliability qualification plans, performing failure analysis, and working cross-functionally to drive improvements from early design through volume production.

What you will be working on:

  • Develop and implement product and process reliability test plans in accordance with JEDEC standards (e.g., HTOL, HAST, TC, THB, EM).
  • Lead and support design-for-reliability (DfR) activities during new product development.
  • Conduct reliability risk assessments and FMEA to anticipate and mitigate potential failure modes.
  • Perform reliability testing and oversee test execution, monitoring, and data analysis.
  • Investigate failures using advanced failure analysis techniques (e.g., SEM, FIB, X-ray, EDX) and drive root cause resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—design, product, packaging, and quality—to ensure reliability is built into every phase of the product lifecycle.
  • Document and present test plans, analysis results, and reliability reports for internal teams and external customers.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the reliability lab, including test equipment scheduling, maintenance, calibration and lab safety compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS and quality system standards within the lab environment.
  • Mentor junior engineers or interns on reliability test methods and data interpretation.

More about you:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in semiconductor reliability engineering, product engineering, failure analysis, or related areas.
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics and common failure mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of Quality systems such as 8D, Lean Six Sigma, FMEA and SPC.
  • Familiarity with JEDEC reliability test standards and qualification processes.
  • Experience with reliability testing environments and failure analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret test data and extract key insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings to various stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
