Regional Tax Manager, Singapore

This position reports to the AP Regional Tax Director, based in Singapore.

What you will do

As a key member of the APAC Finance team, the Regional Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance, accounting, reporting, planning, and risk management for Singapore and selected jurisdictions within the Asia Pacific region. The role includes responsibilities for corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and tax accounting, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and company policies while optimizing tax outcomes. The position will also play a strategic role in regional operating model alignment, tax reporting, and business partnering to support company growth.

This position reports to the AP Regional Tax Director and requires close collaboration with Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, and Business teams across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Accounting, Compliance, and Reporting (40%)

  1. Supervise external co-source service providers and review tax returns, tax payments, and tax disclosures in statutory filings for Singapore and selected APAC jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper disclosure.
  2. Collaborate with Finance teams to ensure tax provisions are properly reported.
  3. Review interim and annual tax provisions in ONESOURCE, support tax reporting for the AP region and ensure tax reporting requirements are met in close collaboration with Global Tax teams.
  4. Oversee tax authority audits, inquiries, and notices, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  5. Monitor tax law changes and proactively identify risks or opportunities.
  6. Support tax controversy matters and dispute resolution, coordinating with external advisors when necessary.
  7. Ensure tax controls and SOX compliance in tax accounting and reporting processes.

Regional Operating Model Design and Alignment & Risk Management (30%)

  1. Analyze the tax impact of business model changes (e.g., legal entity rationalization, supply chain restructuring).
  2. Collaborate with finance, legal, business and operations teams to ensure tax matters are aligned across the organization.
  3. Manage regional transfer pricing, including documentation, intercompany transactions, and risk assessments.
  4. Identify and implement tax process automation and improvements.
  5. Work closely with Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to align tax strategies with business goals.

Business Partnering & Cross-Functional Collaboration (30%)

  1. Provide tax advisory to business projects and initiatives, ensuring tax efficiency and compliance with relevant statutory requirements.
  2. Provide tax input on new business initiatives, system changes, expansions, and M&A.
  3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders (finance, legal, supply chain, operations).
  4. Provide guidance and training to non-tax functions on tax compliance matters and policy requirements.
  5. Represent the tax function in cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or related field.
  2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in Singapore corporate income tax, either in-house or in a public accounting environment.
  3. Strong understanding of Singapore tax laws and regulations, including transfer pricing and GST.
  4. Knowledge of and experience with SFRS and US GAAP.
  5. Experience in handling regional and cross-border tax issues.
  6. Excellent analytical, communication, and team collaboration skills.
  7. Advanced Excel skills and ability to utilize other technology resources.
  8. Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and promote innovation and continuous learning within the group is required.

Desired Qualifications

  1. Prior experience in a US multinational is preferred.
  2. Proficiency in SAP and OneSource.
  3. Knowledge of APAC regional, US and international tax principles (BEPS, etc.) is preferred.
