A leading management services company in Singapore is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer / Account Manager to drive sales growth and manage customer relationships. This role includes overseeing sales representatives, preparing technical presentations, and requires frequent travel. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8–12 years of technical sales experience in relevant industries.
Manage sales representatives within the territory, including setting forecasts, business plans, and following up on sales opportunities.
Travel to customer sites to build relationships, explore opportunities, and secure inquiries and orders.
Gain a solid understanding of customer operations, organizations, and business drivers to strengthen competitive positioning.
Oversee and track sales efforts such as quotation activities, pricing trends, profit margins, and success rates.
Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations to customers, ensuring proposed products meet technical specifications.
Respond to inquiries for aftermarket parts and services related to control valves, desuperheaters, steam conditioning products, and field services.
Provide weekly reports with market intelligence, customer feedback, competitor activity, and other relevant updates.
Investigate and resolve customer issues related to product, delivery, or service concerns.
Participate in on-site visits and design reviews to facilitate order conversion and customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement strategies that highlight product and service advantages.
Identify and develop new market segments (e.g., Petrochemical, Refining, Oil & Gas, Mining, Geothermal).
Develop and execute sales strategies and action plans to achieve market booking targets.
Prepare and manage annual sales forecasts.
Conduct training sessions and joint customer visits with channel partners.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer profiles, including end-users, EPCs, and OEMs.
Provide pricing guidance and competitive intelligence within the region.
Take ownership of major projects and lead the strategy to secure business.
Conduct goal setting and performance reviews for distributors and representatives.
Work closely with application engineering to ensure timely and accurate technical proposals.
Coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers for technical and commercial support when needed.
Prepare pre-qualification documents and business reports as required by management.
Support contract execution and manage key handover processes.
About you:
Strong problem-solving abilities and capability to work with limited guidelines.
Ability to interpret technical documents, such as specifications, P&IDs, and data sheets, for proper product selection.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Technical proficiency in control valve applications for power, industrial, and energy markets.
Knowledgeable in desuperheating, steam conditioning, and turbine bypass applications.
Familiar with valve sizing programs and selection tools.
Basic knowledge of instrumentation and electrical design.
Experience with fluid handling equipment sizing/design.
Strong communication, negotiation, and customer-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Strong leadership and teamwork capabilities in a matrix environment.
Customer-centric, results-driven approach.
Existing network in relevant industries is an advantage.
Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time, including regional travel (e.g., Indonesia and other SEA countries, subject to business needs).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
8–12 years of experience in technical sales or sales support, particularly in the Power, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas, Water & Wastewater, or General Industries within the region.
