DESCRIPTION

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continuous access to our cloud services. We work on complex problems involving supply chain variables and seek talented individuals to join our team.

You will be part of a diverse team including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to uphold safety and security standards while providing high capacity at low cost. This role is for an EHS Manager, Safety Specialist, or Safety Engineer supporting safety operations in Singapore. The ideal candidate must communicate effectively, instruct and train personnel on safety policies, and assist in integrating safety standards onsite.

You will coordinate with internal and external partners, including onsite security, vendors, compliance officers, and fire/life safety systems. The role involves working with employees and contractors to meet safety objectives and supporting construction activities.

This position reports to the Regional Safety Manager - Singapore, focusing on enhancing safety in operations and construction. It is based in Singapore, with potential international travel.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Implement safety standards, policies, and practices, including management systems, training, and risk assessments.
  2. Collaborate with internal teams (Facilities Managers, HR, Hardware Operations) and external vendors (contractors, emergency services).
  3. Ensure compliance with global safety programs and local regulations.
  4. Develop safety plans for emergencies, events, and safety situations.
  5. Perform safety data analysis and benchmarking.
  6. Maintain safety records and provide reports and metrics.
  7. Consult with legal teams on safety regulations and investigations.
  8. Develop solutions to eliminate risks and prevent injuries.
  9. Adapt to fast-paced, changing environments.
  10. International travel for emergency and non-emergency situations may be required.
  11. Work as part of a team supporting sites across Singapore and possibly other countries.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of field safety experience with a proven record.
  • College/university degree in safety and health or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with regulatory interactions and reporting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience establishing partnerships with internal and external teams to execute initiatives.
  • Experience implementing safety policies, processes, and documentation.
  • Safety experience in construction, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar industries with a mix of employees and contractors.
  • Knowledge of local safety and health regulations, investigations, and workplace safety practices.
  • Ability to escalate issues when necessary.
