Job description

Our client is in the process of launching a new retail brokerage arm headquartered in Singapore. As part of this exciting build-out, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Regional Head of Operations to lead and establish the end-to-end operational infrastructure for the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and implementation of all operational frameworks and processes to support retail brokerage activities (e.g., trade execution, settlement, reconciliation, client onboarding, KYC/AML, etc.).
  • Drive the MAS licensing process in close partnership with compliance and legal teams.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational risk controls, systems, and workflows to ensure full regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to define the operations strategy and support business scaling across Singapore and the region.
  • Partner with technology, product, and customer support teams to implement tools and platforms that enable seamless brokerage operations.
  • Establish and manage vendor relationships with third-party providers (e.g., custodians, clearing partners, KYC/AML solution providers).
  • Hire, develop, and manage the operations team as the business grows regionally.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience (8–15 years) in operations within a retail brokerage or securities trading environment, ideally with involvement in a new setup or early-stage buildout.
  • Strong understanding of MAS regulatory expectations, including capital markets licensing, trade processing, and operational risk controls.
  • Familiarity with front-to-back brokerage operations, including onboarding, settlements, reconciliations, and corporate actions.
  • Track record of working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with the ability to build and scale processes from the ground up.
  • Excellent leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
