Job summary

SMBC Group in Singapore is seeking a Regional Global Markets and Treasury Internal Auditor to strengthen the internal control framework. You will lead audits, assess risk, and collaborate with stakeholders across APAC to ensure effective risk management.

The role involves traveling within the region, applying data analytics, and providing actionable recommendations to improve controls and governance in Global Markets and Treasury.

Qualifications

• About 5–8 years of audit experience within a bank or financial institution in APAC.
• Experience auditing Global Markets and Treasury front office and risk management functions.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English.
• Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Meticulous, disciplined and self-motivated with a passion for excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and/or execute audits independently, including audit planning, key control evaluation and testing, report drafting and issues follow-up and closure.
• Plan and execute in-depth risk assessments and process design reviews with operating effectiveness testing for Global Markets and Treasury.
• Provide value-adding recommendations to Management to manage emerging issues or remediate weaknesses.
• Apply data analytics to assess the internal control environment.
• Establish and develop good working relationships with Management of assigned Global Markets and Treasury functions.
• Contribute to the annual risk assessment by understanding business strategy, plans, products, processes and risks.
• Perform continuous monitoring on assigned functions to stay aligned with evolving markets and regulatory changes.
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practices (MAS, RBI, APRA).
• Participate in the team’s strategic initiatives and projects.
