About the role:
Nanometrics is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Director to lead our APAC operations, with a primary focus on driving sales growth. This role will be responsible for developing and executing regional strategies to achieve revenue targets, build strong relationships with key clients, and manage a high-performing sales team and regional partners.
Responsibilities
- Regional Leadership with Sales Focus : Develop and implement strategic regional plans, with a strong emphasis on achieving and exceeding sales targets. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the sales team, and oversee broader regional initiatives.
- Team Management: Recruit, train, manage, and motivate a high-performing sales team. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and strategic partners. Identify and develop new business opportunities within the region.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Accurately forecast sales revenue and provide regular updates to senior management. Analyze sales data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present sales reports.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and potential opportunities. Stay informed about industry developments and competitor activities.
- Sales Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and methodologies. Implement best practices and ensure consistent execution across the sales team.
- Budget Management: Manage the regional sales budget effectively and efficiently. Control expenses and maximize ROI.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, such as marketing, product development, solutions engineering and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration combined with earth science experience, or a post secondary degree in Earth Science combined with a successful track record in business.
- Proven track record of success in sales leadership and regional management, preferably in the Earth Sciences and/or Instrumentation industry.
- Self-starter with a strong sense of initiative; independently seeking new business opportunities.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Experience managing and motivating a sales team.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Google / Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel within the region.
