Who are we looking for?

MacDermid Alpha is seeking a dynamic and experienced Continuous Improvement Leader to oversee and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all of our manufacturing sites in Asia. As the Site Continuous Improvement Leader, you will play a critical role in shaping and enhancing our core capabilities and supply chain performance across the region. This role involves establishing and utilizing a Management Operating System (MOS) to effectively solve problems and deliver improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Inventory. You will partner with site leadership teams across Asia to identify opportunities for improvement and implement CI projects and tools to achieve significant and sustainable results across all of Asia and specific regions within APAC.

What will you be doing?

Continuous Improvement Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the MOS across all manufacturing sites in Asia, aligning with continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
  • Partner with site leadership teams to roll out MOS and identify/facilitate improvements across multiple sites.
  • Create and execute Value Stream Mapping for current and future state development, formulating strategy-driven plans to advance the regional operations.

Strategic and Tactical Deployment:

  • Lead the strategic and tactical deployment of continuous improvement methodologies, including 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Management, and other tools across all sites.
  • Drive the implementation of Continuous Improvement Projects and other business tools to enhance operational performance and achieve sustainable results.

Change Management and Culture Building:

  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by influencing and engaging employees across all sites. Act as a change leader to manage large-scale changes with the appropriate level of engagement and empowerment.
  • Utilize Lean Management, Visual Controls, Leader Standard Work, RCCA, Kanban Pull Systems, and other methodologies to drive operational improvements.

Training and Development:

  • Develop and deliver continuous improvement curriculum and training to ensure that employees understand and effectively use improvement methodologies.
  • Act as a mentor and educator, explaining the rationale behind continuous improvement methods and tools to foster a learning environment.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Regularly update business units on the progress and results of MOS implementation and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Provide high-level technical and operational recommendations to meet material control, product quality, and customer service goals.

Employee Empowerment and Engagement:

  • Empower employees through positive reinforcement of continuous improvement principles and the MOS.
  • Promote a continuous learning environment that encourages ongoing development and engagement.

Who are You?

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical, STEM, or Operations field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications in continuous improvement (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, with a demonstrated track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives across multiple sites.

What competencies will you need?

  • Proven ability to articulate the purpose and value of continuous improvement and effectively move the organization towards desired outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of lean principles, including Lean Leadership, RCCA, 8D, and A3 problem-solving processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a good understanding of financial measurements and goals.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead and support teams across diverse cultural and regional contexts.
  • Ability to work on the shop floor, lead by example, influence decision-making, and facilitate groups with varying perspectives.
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to collaborate effectively towards common objectives.
