Job summary

LVI Associates is assisting a market-leading engineering and construction client to hire a Commercial & Contracts Manager in Singapore. You will provide strategic commercial leadership across large infrastructure projects, safeguarding commercial interests and guiding contract risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work with senior stakeholders to drive negotiation, claims strategy, and governance from tendering through delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in commercial, contracts, legal, or project controls roles in construction, infrastructure or industrial sectors.
• Experience managing high-value and complex contracts across full lifecycle.
• Strong track record in negotiation, claims management, and risk management.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Degree in Law, Engineering, QS, Construction Management, or related.
• Advanced qualifications in Construction Law, Commercial Management, or Contract Administration advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the review, negotiation, and execution of client and subcontract agreements.
• Develop contract strategies balancing commercial opportunities with risk management objectives.
• Provide commercially focused advice to support growth and delivery.
• Establish contracting approaches aligned with objectives and project requirements.
• Partner with bid teams during pursuits and tendering stages.
• Evaluate commercial and contractual risks for new business opportunities.
• Support risk assessments, pricing assumptions, and clarifications during tenders.
• Participate in negotiations to secure favourable terms.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks across active projects.
• Provide guidance on entitlement, risk allocation, and contract interpretation.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and notification requirements.
• Develop proactive strategies to minimise exposure and maximise profitability.
• Lead the development and execution of claims strategies for variations, delays, disruptions, and other events.
• Support negotiations and resolution of commercial disputes with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Coordinate legal support and manage external counsel interactions.
• Protect contractual rights while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
• Act as a trusted commercial advisor to project teams.
• Support procurement and subcontract management activities.
• Drive change management processes across projects.
• Conduct periodic reviews of project commercial performance and compliance.
• Promote a culture of commercial awareness and contract compliance.
• Mentor teams on contract matters and best practices.
• Contribute to enhancements of procedures, governance, and risk management.
