We’re seeking a strategic and culturally fluent Channel Manager for APJ who will also serve as the Country Manager for Japan and ASEAN markets. You’ll be the key driver of Degreed’s regional partner strategy—building, enabling, and scaling a high-impact channel ecosystem to accelerate revenue growth across APJ, with a deep focus on Japan and ASEAN countries.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-cultural business environments, understands the nuances of local go-to-market strategies, and is passionate about shaping how learning happens in the workplace.

  • B2B SaaS sales and deal co-execution
  • Cross-cultural communication and localization

  • Internal collaboration and matrix leadership

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Regional Channel Strategy: Design and execute an 18-month phased channel strategy tailored to Japan and ASEAN, with clear KPIs, growth plans, and market penetration goals
  • Partner Sourcing & Recruitment: Identify, assess, and onboard high-potential partners (resellers, integrators, consultants, tech providers) aligned with Degreed’s mission and market goals
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate trusted advisor-level relationships with senior stakeholders across partner organizations; serve as the main point of contact
  • Partner Enablement: Deliver culturally relevant enablement programs, including product and sales training localized for Japanese and ASEAN markets
  • Sales Co-Execution: Support Japanese and ASEAN-based partners in deal execution—conducting demos, pricing strategy, technical alignment, and closing support
  • Quota Ownership: Own and exceed partner-sourced revenue targets across APJ
  • Performance Analytics: Monitor partner performance, analyze ROI, and iterate on strategy to drive optimal partner contributions
  • Market Intelligence: Stay on top of APJ market dynamics—especially Japan—including competitor activity, customer trends, and regulatory shifts to refine partner strategy
  • Internal Alignment: Act as a cultural and strategic bridge between local partners and internal teams (Sales, Marketing, Product, Support)
  • Brand Ambassador: Represent Degreed at key regional and partner-hosted events to strengthen brand awareness and partner visibility in the region

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in partner/channel management or sales, ideally within the learning technology or enterprise SaaS space
  • Proven success in developing revenue-generating partnerships across APJ, with strong experience in Japan
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: ability to launch and scale regional initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Fluency in English required; fluency in Japanese strongly preferred
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • High cultural agility with deep understanding of Japanese business etiquette and ASEAN market diversity
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a global, remote-first team environment
