Job Summary

The Regional Business Controller, APAC is responsible for coordinating regional financial planning, performance analysis, process improvements, and integration of subsidiaries in alignment with global corporate standards. The role serves as a key liaison between the APAC region and German headquarters, with a strong focus on driving business-centric projects and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional Coordination & Strategic Projects

- Serve as the primary interface between the APAC region and Germany HQ for financial, operational, and strategic alignment.
- Lead and coordinate regional process improvement initiatives and integration projects for newly acquired subsidiaries.
- Oversee regional ERP system assessments and implementation projects, including Salesforce and other systems critical to operational efficiency.
- Own and oversee regional responsibility for DataRocket, our material master data management system, ensuring accurate, timely, and standardized material maintenance across all APAC entities.
- Roll out and maintain a standardized approval matrix across the region.

2. Financial Planning, Reporting & Analysis

- Consolidate regional financial data for monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reporting.
- Deliver insightful monthly performance reports, including variance analysis, KPI tracking, and executive commentary.
- Conduct monthly management performance meetings to drive accountability and transparency.
- Support and coordinate the regional budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Provide strategic business analysis to support decision-making by regional and global stakeholders.

3. Compliance, Tax, and Risk Management

- Coordinate regional transfer pricing and indirect tax compliance in line with global tax strategy.
- Oversee sanction screening processes, ensuring strict adherence to corporate compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Manage regional insurance programs, including coverage review, renewals, claims management, and ongoing risk assessments.
- Collaborate with insurance brokers, legal teams, and HQ to ensure comprehensive and cost-effective risk protection.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; CPA, CA, or MBA is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and business partnering, preferably in a regional or multinational setting.
- Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and stakeholder management.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and BI tools such as SAP B1, QlikView, or Power BI preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Chinese is required for exchange with our team in Shanghai
