The role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in Cloud Security is crucial for the design, implementation, and management of cloud security solutions within AWS and Azure platforms. To excel in this position, you must possess a profound comprehension of cloud security principles, architecture best practices, and extensive experience in implementing security controls and frameworks across cloud environments. With a background of 8-14 years in working with cloud platforms, developing security strategies, and mitigating risks in enterprise-level deployments, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding cloud infrastructure.Your responsibilities will revolve around various key areas:**Cloud Security Architecture & Design:**- Develop and execute security architecture for cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure, ensuring comprehensive protection for data, applications, and services.- Create and uphold security standards, guidelines, and reference architectures for cloud solutions.- Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to define and implement secure infrastructure designs, encompassing VPC configurations, network security, and IAM policies.- Generate high-level architecture diagrams and technical documentation for cloud security solutions.**Security Implementation & Integration:**- Deploy security solutions such as Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Key Management Services (KMS), and Identity and Access Management (IAM).- Implement and manage native security services on AWS and Azure to enhance visibility and threat detection.- Configure and maintain encryption mechanisms for data at rest and in transit using cloud-native tools.- Lead the implementation of Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies and role-based access controls.**Security Compliance & Risk Management:**- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations like ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC 2.- Perform security assessments and audits for cloud environments, identifying risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.- Develop and enforce cloud security policies in alignment with security best practices and frameworks.- Collaborate with compliance teams to ensure cloud security strategies meet regulatory requirements.**Cloud Security Monitoring & Incident Response:**- Implement and maintain cloud security monitoring and logging solutions for proactive threat detection.- Establish Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.- Develop playbooks and automated scripts for incident response.- Act as an escalation point for cloud security incidents, performing root cause analysis and driving remediation efforts.**Cloud Infrastructure Management & Optimization:**- Optimize cloud infrastructure for security, performance, and cost.- Implement network security controls and perform regular reviews and hardening of cloud infrastructure.- Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and operations teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.**Continuous Improvement & Innovation:**- Stay updated with the latest cloud security trends, tools, and technologies.- Participate in industry forums, conferences, and training sessions to enhance expertise.- Evaluate and implement new cloud security tools and services to enhance organizational security posture.**Skills & Competencies:**- Profound knowledge of AWS and Azure security services, IAM, network security, and data protection.- Expertise in cloud security architecture, threat modeling, risk management, and scripting for security automation.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with effective communication and presentation abilities.With a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, and relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security Specialty, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer, you are well-equipped to excel in this role.
