Job summary

N8XT Aerospace is seeking a computer vision / image processing engineer to develop algorithms and software tools to process images for object detection from real-time mission-critical sources such as electro‑optical and thermal imaging sensors.

The role involves researching imaging systems, calibrating cameras for outdoor real-time applications, designing image processing components, and optimizing performance with ML/DL techniques, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, physics, mathematics or a related field.
• Experience in image processing and/or computer vision, preferably outdoor systems.
• Deep understanding of imaging system sensor characteristics and ISP techniques.
• Hands-on experience in the image processing pipeline and colour management.
• Proficiency with Python/C++/MATLAB and common image processing libraries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement algorithms and software tools for image processing and object detection.
• Research imaging systems and validate them for outdoor real-time applications.
• Calibrate cameras for outdoor mission-critical use using optical metrology techniques.
• Design and test image processing components such as filters and feature extractors.
• Optimize algorithm performance with parallel computing and ML/DL methods.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, researchers and clients; document findings.
