Job summary

QUESS SELECTION & SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a skilled Frontend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain React-based applications.

You will translate requirements into scalable code, build responsive interfaces using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, and integrate with RESTful services. You will participate in code reviews, support CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with backend, UX/UI, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven frontend development experience with React.js and modern tooling.
• Ability to translate functional/technical requirements into scalable code.
• Strong knowledge of TS/JS, HTML5 and CSS3, with responsive design focus.
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks (Jest, RTL, Playwright).

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain React.js frontend applications and reusable components.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Develop responsive interfaces using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Implement frontend testing using Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or similar tools.
• Participate in code reviews and follow frontend coding standards and best practices.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices for frontend applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, UX/UI designers, Product Owners, and other technology teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement and technical initiatives.
• Stay updated with modern frontend technologies, development practices, and emerging tools.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–5+ years of professional frontend development experience within 9+ years of overall IT experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with React.js, React Hooks, and Context API.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Experience with frontend build tools such as Webpack, Vite, or ESBuild.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and frontend-backend integration.
• Experience with Git and modern source-control practices.
• Hands-on experience with Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, or similar testing frameworks.
• Good understanding of responsive web development and frontend performance optimisation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AWS services such as S3, CloudFront, Lambda, and API Gateway.
• Exposure to Micro Frontend architecture, including Module Federation or single-spa.
• Experience with Redux, Zustand, or MobX.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Agile/Scrum practices.
• Knowledge of frontend security practices including XSS and CSRF prevention.
• Experience with Figma or collaboration with UI/UX teams.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude.
• Understanding of WCAG, accessibility, and responsive design.
