Job summary

SMRT Corporation is seeking an Assistant Engineer to support live railway operations in Singapore. You will participate in preventive and corrective maintenance of trackside and onboard systems, ensuring safety and reliability for daily train movements.

You will work with a team to maintain equipment that moves trains in a highly complex environment, focusing on signalling assets and fault resolution. The role requires attention to detail and collaborative problem solving under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience in organizing and controlling the safe and efficient delivery of work.
• Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing.
• Knowledge of discipline-specific maintenance, inspection, faulting and renewal techniques.
• Knowledge of relevant standards, procedures and instructions.
• Ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining equipment that moves trains safely in a complex, fast-moving environment.
• Maintaining signalling assets such as Signals, Points and Track Circuits and controlling systems.
• Responding to failures and coordinating with other departments to rectify.
• Using diagrams, tools and electrical equipment to fault and maintain systems while following standards and policies.
• Working in small teams with strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
