Job description

Primary Objectives of Position

  • Performance maintenance of the Automatic Fare Collection System (AFC) so as to ensure that the safety, reliability and availability of the system meets the standards.

  • Maintain Transit Link Ticketing Kiosk (TUK) as an outsource contractor and ensure all the works are accordance to requirements.

  • Implement and deliver LTA AFC project for renewal and replacement.

  • Any other tasks as assigned by superior(s)

Major Responsibilities

  • To ensure systems and facilities are maintained without major interruption and the availability of AFC.

  • To maintain failure management and emergency response processes and procedures for AFC.

  • To maintain Transit Link TUK to requirements and report monthly for compliance.

  • Ensure technical staff are competently trained and certified to perform the servicing works.

  • To review cost effectiveness of material inventory and contracting works.

  • Ensure safety plans are implemented in AFC and all safety hazards are eliminated.

  • Review engineering design and lead investigation into technical failures or recommending best technical solution to improve the system performance.

  • To liaise and participate with LTA for software/hardware modification and AFC system testing.

  • To manage maintenance cost within budget figure.

  • To maintenance a good waste management for sustainability

The above activities are no means exhaustive and are subjected to amendment whenever is needed

Specific Safety Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting, approving and implementing the technical standards for AFC and related equipment maintenance so as to ensure the highest level of operational safety.

  • Responsible for the safety of staff, related contractors and others working on or around the railway premises.

  • Responsible to assign only competence maintenance staff of AFC and ensuring the competence of related contractors and staffs

Job Specifications

Minimum Education / Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Telecommunication/Computer Engineering.

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience

  • Preferably at least 3 years of work experience in Electrical/Electronics Engineering for degree holder.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Good interpersonal skill.

  • Possess good writing skill and network knowledge
