Job summary

Raffles Hotel Singapore is seeking a Facilities Technician to support daily engineering operations and hotel services. You will operate equipment to ensure optimal room temperatures and water quality, react to maintenance requests, and assist with safety and energy-saving programs.

The role involves shift-based responsibilities including preventive maintenance, equipment replacement, and coordination with guests.

Qualifications

• Nitec qualification required; 1 year experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of building facilities maintenance processes and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment to maintain room temperature and water supply for hotel areas.
• Rectifies equipment and lighting issues; replaces faulty components as needed.
• Responds to technical issues from hotel patrons in a timely manner.
• Collects daily utilities meter readings; verifies plant/equipment are in proper operation.
• Operates elevators, pool, fire protection, drainage, TV systems, and public music systems.
• Supports sustainability initiatives and Upholds Accor values in all duties.

Overview

The Facilities Technician is responsible for daily engineering sections to support hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Daily Engineering Operations
  • Operates equipment to deliver a comfortable room temperature to hotel areas.
  • Operates equipment to deliver clean water to the respective services in the hotel.
  • Operates equipment to deliver hot water to the respective services in the hotel as required.
  • Operates equipment to deliver clear and sharp images from television and satellite equipment to guest suites as required.
  • Operates equipment to deliver audio visual support to hotel events as required.
• Shift Operations
  • Rectifies equipment and facilities breakdowns as required.
  • Replaces faulty components and lighting bulbs as required.
  • Responds to requests relating to technical issues from hotel patrons in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collects daily utilities meter readings and verifies plant/equipment are in proper operation as required.
  • Patrols hotel grounds to verify fire and safety risk as required.
  • Patrols hotel grounds to verify all lighting on hotel grounds operate within the preset timings as required.
• Plant and Facilities Services
  • Operates plant facilities to support every aspect of hotel operations in a timely and efficient manner.
• Preventive Maintenance
  • Rectifies/repairs damaged furniture to the highest quality level and in a timely manner.
  • Rectifies/paints defective building surfaces to the highest quality level and in a timely manner.
• Other Responsibilities
  • Operates the hotel elevators and dumbwaiters as required.
  • Operates the hotel swimming pool and water fountains as required.
  • Operates the hotel fire protection services as required.
  • Operates the hotel drainage and sanitary system as required.
  • Operates the hotel television and satellites system as required.
  • Operates the hotel public music system as required.
  • Operates the hotel lighting and dimming system as required.

Candidate Profile

Knowledge and Experience

• Nitec Certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical / Electronics, Air conditioning servicing and/or Plumbing.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
