Overview

The Radiographer is responsible for providing prompt diagnostic imaging services to patients, ensuring patient safety and proper care of equipment. Assist the Centre In-charge/Senior Principal Radiographer in guiding and supervising junior radiographers/assistants.

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the following:

Primary Responsibilities and Duties (80%)

  1. Perform Bone Mineral Densitometry and radiographic examinations using C-arm fluoroscopy and Bone Mineral Densitometry machines during Orthopaedic procedural activities.
  2. Responsible for the safety and welfare of the patient.
  3. Maintain a clean and safe environment; adhere to safe work practices, especially in radiation safety and infection control.
  4. Perform other administrative duties or ad-hoc quality departmental projects/activities as assigned by the reporting officer/Centre In-charge.
  5. Apply the ALARA principle for all procedures.
  6. Responsible for general housekeeping of the allocated diagnostic centre and/or clinic.
  7. Render prompt and courteous service delivery to external and internal customers.
  8. Ensure efficient running and operations of their area of responsibility.
  9. Assist the reporting officer/Centre In-charge to ensure quality control procedures are performed diligently.

Secondary Responsibilities and Duties (20%)

  1. Participate in one or more departmental committees.
  2. Coach junior/assistant radiographers in general radiographic techniques.
  3. Perform any other duties assigned by reporting officer/Centre In-charge.

Requirements*

  1. Recognized degree or Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography.
  2. Professional Licence: R1 license with Centre for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Sciences, National.
  3. Registration with Allied Health Professions Council.
  4. Experience in Bone Mineral Densitometry and C-Arm imaging preferred.
  5. Ability to communicate in vernacular languages.
  6. Knowledge of basic programming and advanced applications of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be an added advantage.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Strong organisational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Participate in continuous medical education and quality assurance programs as directed by the reporting officer/Centre In-charge.
  10. Complete all assigned tasks in an organized and timely manner.
  11. Service-oriented and customer-focused. Have a compassionate, caring, and friendly attitude.
  12. Effective communication and coaching skills.
  13. Good team player.
