Job summary

National University Hospital (Singapore) PTE Ltd seeks a Radiation Therapist to coordinate and administer precise radiation treatments. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patients throughout their radiation therapy journey, ensuring safety and accuracy.

The role involves operating therapy equipment, maintaining documentation, mentoring students, and participating in professional development and research activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Radiation Technology or related fields.
• 3 years of clinical experience in Medical Radiation Therapy preferred, fresh graduates considered for entry positions.
• Competent in clinical radiation therapy to perform pre-treatment and treatment delivery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, plan and administer accurate radiation treatment to patients.
• Operate radiation therapy equipment per SOPs and radiation safety practices.
• Adhere to safe radiation practices, health hazards prevention and infection control precautions.
• Perform QA checks on radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation and patient care.
• Maintain accurate records of radiation dose delivered to patients.
• Maintain high standards of patient care and escalate patient side effects as needed.
• Guide and mentor student Radiation Therapists assigned to the unit.
• Participate in departmental development, education and research activities.
• Assume additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

Job Description:

Responsible for coordinating, planning and administering accurate radiation treatment to patient.

Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical support throughout patients’ course of radiation therapy.

Responsibilities:

• To perform CT-simulation, treatment device construction, dosimetry calculation for the delivery of radiation treatment based on department treatment protocol and plan approved by the Radiation Oncologist.
• To operate radiation therapy machine and other supportive equipment in accordance with the department standard operation protocols and radiation safety practice.
• To adhere to safe radiation practices, occupational health hazards prevention and infection control precautions.
• To perform quality assurance check on radiation therapy equipment to ensure proper operation, policies, and protocols of patient care.
• To maintain accurate record and documentation of radiation dose delivered to patient.
• To maintain high standards of patient care, clinical communication and the timely escalation of management of patients’ side effects.
• To guide and mentor student Radiation Therapist assigned to unit.
• To participate in departmental / Radiation Therapists' professional development, education and research activities.
• To assume additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
