Job summary

GMP Technologies in Singapore is looking for an R&D Sample Build Management Engineer to lead daily R&D sample runs with a focus on yield improvement and defect reduction, while driving qualification programs for new products and process changes.

You will develop qualification plans, coordinate activities across R&D, Manufacturing, QA, and Marketing, supervise engineers, ensure QMS compliance, and push continuous improvement through data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is required.
• Experience in semiconductor, HDD, electronics manufacturing, or related environments is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, and Excel is expected.

About the job R&D Sample Build Management Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for managing R&D sample run activities with a focus on yield improvement and defect reduction. Leadsproduct and process qualification programs for new products, material changes, equipment changes, processmodifications, and customer-specific requirements. Drives qualification strategy, risk management, cross-functionalproject execution, and customer approvals to ensure successful product release and compliance with the Company'sQuality Management System (QMS).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily R&D sample run activities and ensure timely execution of development and qualification plans.
• Lead product, material, equipment, and process qualification activities, including new product introductions and process modifications.
• Develop qualification plans, protocols, acceptance criteria, and implementation schedules.
• Evaluate qualification results and provide recommendations for product and process release.
• Conduct risk assessments, failure mode analysis, and technical evaluations to identify and mitigate potential risks.
• Investigate process and equipment-related issues, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through qualification trend analysis, process optimization, and best practices implementation.
• Plan, compile, monitor, and communicate qualification and sample run schedules to ensure alignment across functions.
• Coordinate qualification activities among R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Marketing, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Lead customer qualification submissions, technical reviews, and approval processes.
• Collaborate with other companysites to facilitate engineering knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Engineering Assistants and Technicians to achieve departmental objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety requirements, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant working experience in semiconductor, HDD, electronics manufacturing, engineering, R&D, process, or quality-related environments is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in data analysis tools such as Minitab, JMP, and Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with qualification methodologies, risk assessment, FMEA, SPC, DOE, and quality improvement tools.
• Experience in leading engineering projects and customer qualification activities.
• Able to work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and global sites.
