Join an Innovation Research MNC established in Biopolis, Singapore - R&D base specializing in the healthcare and life science field and capable of leading cutting-edge R&D projects that involve collaboration with institutions around the world.

Job Description

The company is seeking skilled and experienced R&D project engineer to join the diagnostics R&D team. The successful candidate will be working as a team leader of a device prototyping team or an App prototyping team. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams in both Singapore and head office in Asia, understanding the target product profile for the intended use, conducting feasibility studies of novel technologies, and ensuring designs meet technical requirements.

3 years renewable contract

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the new business development activities

  • Propose new research projects, constantly

  • Successful milestone management via clear goal setting.

  • Develop App-controlled automated small medical device, diagnostic platform with molecular or immunological tests

  • Design and fabricate microfluidics devices for digital detection assays at various stages, including proof-of-concept, prototype design, optimization, and validation.

  • Automated devices include systems for pneumatic & fluidic control, heater/cooler, optical sensors, microcontroller programming and GUI-controlled App.

  • Comply with all laboratory safety standards and guidelines

  • Ensure accurate and systematic documentation of laboratory work

  • Actively provide ongoing training to junior members of the cross-functional teams.

Key Requirements:

Must:

  • PhD/Masters in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering and other related discipline.

  • Familiar with lab operation and lab safety matters

  • Self-driven, highly motivated, organized, and responsible individual

  • Team player with excellent communication skills

  • Working on-site with cross-functional teams

Must for Device team leader:

  • Proven expertise in additive manufacturing, including 3D printing, microfluidic systems, process optimization, CAD design (SolidWorks), PCB design, machining, and mechanical testing.

Must for App team leader:

  • Proven expertise in programming of GUI-controlled App for Android OS and iOS.

Highly Advantageous

  • Experience with ISO 13485

  • Familiar with AI image processing or image processing pipelines.
