We are a Singapore-based technology company specializing in the development of scientific research instruments, visible light communication (VLC) systems, and laboratory consumables. We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking R&D Manager to lead our technical team in driving innovation and new product development.

As the R&D Manager, you will be responsible for shaping our technology roadmap, overseeing research initiatives, and managing technical collaborations with local institutions and international partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage R&D projects in areas such as optical systems, visible light communication, and advanced laboratory equipment.
  • Design and prototype new products from concept to market-ready stage.
  • Supervise a team of engineers and researchers to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Liaise with external research institutions (e.g., NTU, A*STAR) for collaborative development and grant applications.
  • Develop IP strategy and oversee patent filings when applicable.
  • Provide technical support to sales and customer service teams.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field (preferably from NTU, NUS, or equivalent institutions).
  • Demonstrated research skills and familiarity with experimental methods.
  • Strong background in optical systems, unmanned autonomous systems, sensor fusion, signal processing, data analysis, or scientific instrumentation.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
