Job summary

Esri is seeking an R&D intern to explore emerging technologies and develop innovative prototypes at the intersection of GIS, digital twins, urban planning, and mixed reality. You will collaborate with an international R&D team delivering web, desktop, and MR applications for 3D GIS and design, taking ownership from research to a working prototype.

Qualifications

• Experience developing web applications using modern web technologies.
• Interest in creating intuitive, user-centred experiences and interactive applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Final-year undergraduate or postgraduate student in computer science, GIS, architecture, UI/UX design, or a related field.
• Existing work authorization in Singapore for the full internship period.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver an R&D project in areas such as 3D Web GIS, digital twins, spatial analysis, web applications, visualization, or UI/UX design.
• Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential for real-world applications.
• Identify opportunities, propose solutions, and define a project roadmap together with your supervisor.
• Design, build, and iterate on a working prototype while regularly sharing progress and findings.
• Document your work and communicate results through presentations, demonstrations, and a showcase video.

This paid, full-time internship offers hands‑on experience, close mentorship, and the opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful project from research and experimentation through to a working prototype and final demonstration.

Requirements

• Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Final‑year undergraduate or postgraduate student in computer science, GIS, architecture, UI/UX design, or a related field
• Existing work authorization in Singapore for the full internship period

Recommended Qualifications

• Familiarity with ArcGIS or other geospatial platforms
• Interest in digital twins, 3D visualisation, urban planning, architecture, civil engineering, street design, or mixed reality technologies
