Job summary

DSO National Laboratories in Singapore invites high-calibre engineers to join the Quantum Sensing Programme as a High Power Electromagnetics Engineer. You will translate cutting-edge quantum technologies into defence-grade solutions and work with a multi-disciplinary team.

Develop and integrate quantum sensors, contribute to sensor subsystems, and collaborate with scientists and software engineers to deliver lab advances as real-world payloads.

Qualifications

• PhD/Masters/Bachelor’s in Engineering Science or related field.
• Experience in analog/digital electronics, RF electronics, or optics.
• Knowledge of quantum physics preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate robust quantum sensors for inertial or electromagnetic sensing.
• Design sensor subsystems: optical traps, electronics, magnetic field controllers, or vacuum/cryogenics.
• Collaborate with scientists, software engineers, and users to transition labs to field sensor payloads.

High Power Electromagnetics Engineer

In this role, you will:

• Develop and integrate robust quantum sensors for inertial or electromagnetic sensing
• Design and develop sensor subsystems such as optical traps, electronics, magnetic field controllers, or vacuum and cryogenics for quantum sensor
• Undertake systems development with scientists, software engineers, and users to ensure successful transition of lab devices into sensor payloads

• PhD / Masters / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Optics or Photonics
• Experience in any of the following: analog/digital electronics, RF electronics, power electronics, lasers, optics, high vacuum, or cryogenic experiments
• Knowledge or experience in quantum physics is preferred but not essential
• Working proficiency in a programming language (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
• Team player and self-driven learner
• Passionate in translating lab technologies into real world applications
