Job summary

EGP SMART ENERGY PTE. LTD in Singapore is seeking a diligent Quantity Surveyor/Cost Estimator to review tenders, perform quantity take-offs and prepare tender pricing for electrical and engineering projects.

You will source and evaluate quotations, develop cost breakdowns and value-engineering proposals, and coordinate inputs with engineering and project teams to ensure timely tender submissions. Strong numerical ability, attention to detail and proficiency in Excel are essential; this role

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret drawings and BOQ for costing purposes.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential cost risks, savings opportunities and commercial factors during tender prep.
• Coordinate with engineering, project and other internal teams for inputs.

The role focuses on tender review, quantity take-off, cost estimation, sourcing and evaluation of quotations, pricing analysis and preparation of tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender requirements, technical specifications, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and related documents.

• Perform quantity take-off, cost estimation and tender pricing for electrical and engineering projects.

• Source, obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors, suppliers and service providers.

• Prepare quotation comparisons, cost breakdowns, budgets and value-engineering proposals.

• Support the preparation, compilation and submission of tender documents.

• Identify potential cost risks, savings opportunities and commercial considerations during tender preparation.

• Coordinate with engineering, project and other internal teams to obtain technical and commercial inputs.

• Maintain accurate tender costing records and supporting documentation.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Preferably 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, tendering or cost estimation, with hands‑on involvement in tender preparation and pricing.
• Experience in electrical, M&E, power infrastructure, industrial construction or engineering projects will be an advantage.

• Able to interpret technical drawings, specifications and BOQ for quantity take-off and costing purposes.

• Experience in sourcing and evaluating supplier or subcontractor quotations.

• Good numerical, analytical and cost evaluation skills, with attention to detail.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with relevant QS or costing tools.

• Able to work independently, manage tender timelines and coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders.
