Job summary

CST Steel Engineering Sdn Bhd invites applications for a contract administration role focusing on pre- and post-tender activities in steel structural projects. You will review drawings, prepare BOQs, quotations, and support procurement through contract phases.

Responsibilities include cost control, monthly claims, and cash flow preparation, with the goal of ensuring accurate project accounting and successful tender outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years in steel structure fabrication or similar
• Diploma or higher in civil/structural eng or QS
• Meticulous and detail-oriented
• Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
• Self-driven with initiative to work independently
• Sound computer literacy, including advanced Excel
• Advanced level of English (written & spoken)

Responsibilities

• Review tender drawings and specs to ensure measurements and quantities are accounted for
• Prepare bill of quantities with take-off, sourcing, and cost estimation
• Prepare tender quotations for management review and client submission
• Provide procurement support during contract phase and vendor sourcing
• Prepare monthly progress claims and variation orders
• Monitor project budget and perform cost control
• Prepare cash flow data and finalize project accounts/claims
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Years of Experience

• Min 3-4 years’ experience in steel structure fabrication or similar field.
• Diploma or higher education in civil & Structural engineering, quantity surveying or similar field.

Job Description and Requirements

To manage the contract administration process, both pre and post tender stages

Pre-Contract Stage

• Review tender drawings and specification to ensure all measurements and quantities are accounted for to achieve realistic commercial value for each project.
• Prepares bill of quantities which involves quantity take-off in excel sheet, materials sourcing, measuring, and estimating material and labour costs used in the tendering process.
• Prepare tender quotations for review with management and submission to clients.

Post-Contract Stage

• Provide procurement support during contract phase. Sourcing of local and/or overseas vendors.
• Prepare monthly progress claims, including variation orders claims.
• Monitor project budget and perform cost controlling.
• Prepare cash flow data progressively.
• Finalize project accounts/claims.

Additional Duties

• Perform other duties and task assigned by immediate supervisor.
