Job summary

FJ Machinery Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to prepare bills of quantities, manage budgets and produce cost reports for tender and post-contract work.

You will value work, prepare interim and final accounts, handle variations, and perform take-offs to support planning and procurement. Senior roles include mentoring junior QS staff on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional quantity surveying experience in the construction industry for QS roles; 8+ years for SQS positions.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including standard forms such as FIDIC, Singapore Standard Conditions and other common contract types.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage accurate bills of quantities and cost estimates for construction projects at tender and post-contract stages
• Monitor and control project costs, expenditure and budget variances, providing regular financial reports to project management and clients
• Conduct valuations of work completed and prepare interim and final accounts for clients
• Negotiate and manage variations, claims and contractual disputes with contractors, suppliers and clients in a professional manner
• Perform quantity take-offs and material calculations to support project planning and procurement activities
• For Senior positions: mentor and supervise junior quantity surveyors and provide guidance on complex projects and commercial matters
