Job summary

KOON LIAN CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support civil engineering projects by managing quantity take-offs, cost breakdowns, progress claims, and supplier negotiations for accurate costing and timely procurement.

The role involves pre- and post-contract budgeting, preparation of variations and final accounts, and close collaboration with contractors and suppliers to ensure financial control and successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Building.
• Minimum 1 year of Civil Engineering experience.
• Bilingual proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost breakdowns for pre-contract and post-contract phases to support accurate budgeting
• Prepare and follow up on progress claims, progress certifications, variation orders, and final account settlements with main contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers
• Maintain accurate records and track all variation orders for timely submission and approval
• Develop monthly cash flow projections to assist in financial planning and project management
• Source, negotiate, and evaluate quotations from sub-contractors and suppliers by preparing comprehensive price comparisons
• Prepare Works Orders and Letters of Award for sub-contractors and suppliers to formalize agreements
• Liaise with project teams to coordinate material ordering, issue Purchase Orders, and monitor cost control measures
• Attend project and site meetings to provide updates and resolve issues related to quantity surveying and procurement
• Collaborate effectively with teammates to ensure smooth project execution and communication
• Execute additional ad-hoc duties as assigned to support project and company objectives
