Candidates should possess a relevant Bachelor's or Master's degree and have significant experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in FPSO shipbuilding.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project quantity surveyor team with integrity, supporting the project organization as a subject matter expert for quantity surveying.
  • Assign project quantity surveying activities with administrative post-subcontracts documents (e.g. major fabrication subcontracts agreement, etc.) with accountability.
  • Incorporate and setup best practices in quantity surveying policies as well as considering project-specific requirements to ensure reasonable standardization of quantity surveying practices across projects.
  • Manage yard quantity surveyors; Plan, select, recruit, train, deploy, develop and manage the careers of quantity surveying team members to the satisfaction of project requirements, ensuring qualified resources are always provided on time to maintain project timeline and performance.
  • Communicate with project controls managers to ensure quantity surveying related issues are properly supported and pipelined for resolution to streamline and debottleneck project execution.
  • Ensure contractual terms and conditions are properly followed and the project gross margin is protected.
  • Guide quantity surveyors and assume specialist role on quantity surveying towards the organization to guarantee clarity on contracts quoting, approval, administration, and claim management.
  • Coordinate with contractors & internal clients on commercial and non-commercial negotiations to make sure they are conducted in a diligent, compliant, and transparent manner, driving the lowest total cost of ownership through the project lifecycle (proposal, EPCCI, operations, decommissioning).
  • Prepare reports and documentation related to project costs and progress for Project reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree, Masters Degree, Marine Degree/Diploma Graduates in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management or Oil & Gas related.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years or above of quantity surveying experience in Oil & Gas especially FPSO shipbuilding or shipyard and onshore/offshore experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of project management, risk management and change management processes.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and budgeting software.
  • Good understanding of oil & gas offshore facility construction contracts and requirements.
  • Good leadership and problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during project execution.
