Quantity Survey Manager (A listco and a market leader in industrial property development)

Quantity Survey Manager heads and manages a team of Quantity Surveyors, ensuring contract compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, Subcontractor Agreements awarded are within budget, according to specifications and adhering to the delivery terms. He/ She develops and implements a strategy to ensure the functions are operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings and works alongside the senior management team in contributing to overall business objectives.

Role
Cost Management/ Procurement/ Tender
  • Oversee project budgets, cost control, cost reporting
  • Manage project finances from inception to completion.
  • Negotiate and handle the procurement of materials and subcontractors.
Contract Administration/ Project Management
  • Prepare subcontract documents and manage tender processes.
  • Prepare and manage contracts, including bills of quantities.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Review and negotiate contract amendments with subcontractors and clients.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to junior QS staff.
  • Provide commercial advice to the site team.
  • Ensure projects are completed within budget and on time.
Client Liaison:
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and financial status.
  • Address client concerns and ensure client satisfaction.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare detailed progress reports and costings for tenders.
  • Value completed work and arrange for payments.
  • Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
