A leading engineering and construction company in Singapore is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation and project documentation for M&E services. Candidates must possess a relevant engineering degree and at least 5 years of experience, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project costs and budgets are effectively managed.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Well knowledge of estimation and budgeting for the Electrical System
  2. Liaise with contractors and engineers regarding overall services
  3. Liaise with respective parties on checking drawings and specifications
  4. Attending site meetings with owner, consultants, and contractors on all matters relating to the project operation and coordination
  5. Prepare M&E-related information for tendering of new projects
  6. Be involved in pre-and post-contract M&E quantity surveys for project site offices
  7. Evaluate price comparison and costing summaries
  8. Prepares cost estimates based on technical specifications and prepares costing details for further analyses
  9. Perform cost planning, estimation, and measurement of quantities for M&E aspects of projects
  10. Conduct claims, identify variation orders, submit accurate cost implications and spreadsheets
  11. Form sub-contract documents and conditions
  12. Prepare settlement for final accounts
  13. Maintain relevant project documentation
  14. Handle matters relating to the extension of time, loss and expense claims, etc.
  15. Be responsible for budget and cost controls

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Electrical or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience in the M&E or building services field.
  • Able to meet challenging work demands and tight schedules
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Independent and resourceful
  • Is detail-oriented and meticulous in work
  • Possesses knowledge of the industry, construction materials, procurement methods, and regulations
  • Possesses strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The candidate is usually stationed in the office or project work sites to perform his/her duties
  • Willing to learn new QS software and apply into works
