Job summary

Tech Aalto Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Python/Data Engineer to support our Quantitative Investment team. You will build and maintain data pipelines, manipulate data with Python and SQL, and collaborate with researchers to enable data-driven investment decisions.

The role requires 4–8 years of experience, strong Python skills with Pandas/Polars, DuckDB, and ML knowledge. This is an onsite contract position in Singapore, with emphasis on data quality and scalable analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in CS, data science, stats, or math
• 4–8 years of hands-on Python programming with dataframes and DuckDB/SQL
• Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, and ML models
• Experience with financial datasets and supporting quantitative research preferred
• Familiarity with data visualization libraries
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

• Build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines for quantitative investment strategies
• Perform data manipulation, cleaning, and transformation using Python (Pandas/Polars/DuckDB)
• Work closely with quantitative researchers to provide high-quality datasets and tools
• Support development and validation of statistical and ML models
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and reliability across data sources
• Translate investment requirements into technical solutions
• Automate data extraction, feature engineering, and reporting tasks
• Contribute to backtesting and performance monitoring frameworks
