Job description

QS4QS is actively seeking skilled Quantity Surveyors to enhance our team and contribute to the success of our diverse range of construction projects. These professionals will be responsible for managing all aspects of project cost, from initial estimates and contracts through to final accounts. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with project teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for construction projects from concept through to completion
  • Prepare and review tender documentation, analyze bids, and prepare contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor project costs and cash flow, providing accurate forecasts and reporting to stakeholders
  • Manage contractual claims, variations, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
  • Conduct site visits to assess the progress and quality of work, addressing any discrepancies with project teams
  • Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and contractors to optimize project delivery and outcomes
  • Assist in preparing perspectives on financial implications of projects and offering strategic advice based on market trends
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, construction methods, and best practices in quantity surveying
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a closely related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management
  • In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and relevant legislation
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills; ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and project deliverables effectively
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Professional qualifications such as MRICS or similar are preferred
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as necessary
