Key Responsibilities
1. GDS Product Quality
- Lead quality activities for the GDS product line, including gas boxes, gas lines and related assemblies.
- Review product specifications, drawings, BOMs and quality requirements to ensure appropriate inspection and quality controls are established.
- Ensure manufacturing and assembly processes meet approved specifications and customer requirements.
- Identify potential quality risks during new product introduction and engineering changes.
2. Incoming, In-Process & Final Inspection
- Establish and maintain inspection and testing requirements for GDS products.
- Oversee incoming inspection of critical materials and components.
- Monitor in-process quality during fabrication, assembly and testing.
- Ensure final inspection and testing are completed before product release.
- Maintain appropriate inspection records, traceability and quality documentation.
3. Process & Manufacturing Quality
- Work closely with Production and Engineering to identify and control process-related quality risks.
- Monitor defects, rework, rejection and yield performance.
- Investigate recurring quality issues and implement preventive controls.
- Drive continuous improvement in fabrication, welding, tubing, assembly and testing processes, as applicable to GDS operations.
4. Customer Quality
- Act as the quality contact for GDS customer-related matters.
- Manage customer complaints, quality investigations and corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit quality reports, including 8D and corrective-action responses where required.
- Support customer inspections, audits and qualification activities.
- Ensure customer-specific quality requirements are understood and implemented.
5. Non-Conformance & CAPA
- Lead the investigation and disposition of internal and external non-conformances.
- Conduct root-cause analysis using appropriate quality tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone and 8D.
- Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with relevant departments.
- Track corrective actions to timely closure and verify their effectiveness.
6. Supplier Quality
- Work with Procurement and Engineering to monitor the quality of materials, components and services supplied to GDS.
- Support supplier evaluation and qualification activities.
- Manage supplier-related non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier quality trends and recommend improvement actions.
7. Quality Documentation & Traceability
- Maintain GDS quality records, inspection reports and product documentation.
- Ensure appropriate material and product traceability is maintained.
- Review and improve quality procedures, inspection plans and checklists.
- Ensure quality documentation is properly controlled and maintained.
8. Audit & Quality System Support
- Support implementation and maintenance of the Company's Quality Management System.
- Participate in internal, customer and external audits relevant to GDS operations.
- Coordinate responses and corrective actions arising from audit findings.
- Support ISO 9001 and other applicable quality-system requirements.
9. Quality KPI & Improvement
- Establish and monitor GDS quality KPIs, including:
- Defect and rejection rate
- First-pass yield
- Rework and scrap
- Customer complaints
- Supplier quality
- NCR closure
- CAPA effectiveness
- Prepare regular quality performance reports for GDS management.
- Identify and implement practical quality improvement initiatives.
10. Cross-Functional Leadership
- Work closely with GDS Engineering, Production, Project Management, Procurement and other functions.
- Provide quality guidance on new projects, engineering changes and production issues.
- Promote quality ownership throughout the GDS team.
- Coach and guide Quality Engineers, Inspectors or other quality personnel assigned to GDS, where applicable.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of relevant quality experience in manufacturing, precision engineering, semiconductor, gas delivery, equipment manufacturing or a related industry.
- Experience in product and process quality within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with inspection, non-conformance management, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, 5-Why, FMEA, SPC and CAPA.
- Experience working with engineering drawings, specifications and inspection requirements.
- Experience with customer and supplier quality activities.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements is preferred.
- Experience with gas delivery systems, gas boxes, gas lines, tubing, welding or related high-purity manufacturing processes will be advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
