Job description

Quality Engineering Assistant

Job Scope :

  1. Facilitate sample analysis of returned products from customers to identify causes of field failure and customer dissatisfaction using problem-solving skills.
  2. Coordinate technical analysis by cross-functional teams and communicate findings to customers.
  3. Support Quality Engineer in product launch and line sustaining activities.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational quality issues.
  5. Monitor SPC trends, analyze key performance indicators, suggest improvements, and escalate issues to supervisors or management as necessary.
  6. Prepare FTQ reports and scrap reports.
  7. Drive and communicate CAPA for 8D reports internally and externally.
  8. Support quality improvement projects.
  9. Assist in PPAP submission processes.
  10. Support Q-Plan development and planning.
  11. Assist in internal and external audits (ISO/IATF 16949, customer audits).
  12. Help plan, execute, and monitor external audit programs, liaising with certification bodies.
  13. Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring internal audit programs, including process, product, ESD, and layered process audits.
  14. Support follow-up and tracking of corrective actions from audit findings.
  15. Assist in preparing management review documents, including risk analysis/assessment.
  16. Update and maintain quality system documents and records according to document control procedures.
  17. Update quality reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
  18. Act as system administrator for the Calibration Management System of CPMS, liaising with system developers as needed.
  19. Support continual improvement of Quality & Information Security Management Systems.

Position: Quality AE

Job Scope :

  1. Inspect outgoing and incoming sub-contracted parts according to established procedures and specifications.
  2. Maintain quality records and data files.
  3. Report quality issues to QA Manager and Factory/Production Managers for action.
  4. Ensure non-conforming products are not mixed with conforming products prior to disposition.
  5. Authorize rejection of unsatisfactory parts and release conforming parts for storage and delivery.
  6. Perform routine testing and checks on switchboards in the workshop.
  7. Conduct testing and commissioning of switchboards on vessels or on-site, including witnessing by surveyors or customers.
  8. Assist in quality responsibilities and achieving quality objectives.
  9. Maintain good housekeeping in the QA Department.
  10. Adhere to safety rules during tasks.
  11. Use calibrated instruments for inspection.
  12. Initiate actions to prevent product non-conformity and provide solutions to detected problems.
  13. Verify implementation of solutions and control further processing of non-conforming products.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned by superiors.

Qualifications: Nitec / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 1-2 years relevant experience. Experience with switchboards/panels is an advantage. Able to travel occasionally, start immediately or on short notice, with good communication skills, and comfortable working at Tuas (transport provided).
