From automating processes to leveraging smart factory technologies, robotics, and additive manufacturing, GE Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS).
GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.
Role Overview:
· Perform audits on Repair Source Substantiation (RSS) packages to verify repair characteristic accountability
· Review RSS audit results to identify trends and coordinate continuous improvement plans to improve NPI quality and first-time yield.
· Develop quality system procedures for NPI process to ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency of NPIs delivered by Engineering team.
· Track and monitor post introduction NPIs for quality issues and drive Engineering / Shop for follow up improvements.
· Act as a focal point for all NPI-related queries and clarifications about Quality/regulatory requirements.
· Support conduct of shop internal audit plan as necessary.
· Drive and promote Quality culture and participate in EHS and other shop initiatives as necessary.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidatewill possess experience of NPI in Aviation or manufacturing special processes including a mixture of heat treat, conventional welding, laser welding, shot peening, coating, chemical processes, non-conventional machining.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent)
Minimum of 2 years relevant aerospace experience in repair/manufacturing or a quality assurance role
Knowledge of general aviation legislation and quality systems (ISO9001/AS9100)
Knowledge of repair/manufacturing fundamentals
Holds a recognized Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification
Knowledge of Six Sigma quality concepts and tools.
Good command of written and spoken English
Basic knowledge of PC software (Microsoft Office)
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of manufacturing special processes (heat treat, welding, shot peening, coating, chemical processes, non-conventional machining)
Knowledge of RCCA/HF techniques
Good initiative and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
