Job summary

Vital Thin Film Materials Technology Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a QC Lab Technician to perform physical analysis and inspection of products and raw materials. You will maintain measurement records, track calibration status, and work in a laboratory environment with other personnel.

You should have a Diploma in Sciences/Engineering, be proficient in MS Office, and have experience operating analytical instruments in a manufacturing QA setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect product and raw materials for dimensions, density, weight, and visual defects.
• Operate Scanning Acoustic Microscopy for C-Scan inspections.
• Operate Laser Profiler to profile spent target.
• Maintain calibration and condition of measurement equipment.
• Maintain reserve sample records, transfer documents and sample disposition.
• Record and manage data for all incoming samples for QA and lab.
• Prepare samples for physical analysis (gas, SEM, PSD, Tap density, hardness) per procedure.
• Follow strict safety and PM procedures and ensure lab safety checks.
• Maintain workplace cleanliness and implement 5S practices.

About the role

Perform physical analysis and inspection for product and raw materials, while able to maintain and keep track on measurement record, data and information. Knowledge able to maintain measurement equipment calibration status and requirement. Able to work in Laboratory environment and cooperate with other personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Responsible for inspection of product and raw material which included dimension, density, weighting, visual inspection.
• Operate Scanning Acoustic Microscopy machine to perform C-Scan inspection.
• Operate Laser Profiler to conduct spent target profiling.
• Maintain and ensure all measurement equipment and tools calibration are up to date.
• Maintain reserve sample records, transfer documents and disposition of samples.
• Maintain system transaction and data recording for all incoming samples for QA and Lab.
• Assist lab personnel in preparing samples for physical analysis (gas, SEM, PSD, Tap density and hardness) according to procedure and requirements.
• Follow and ensure strict safety and PM procedures and safety checks all activities in laboratory.
• Maintaining workplace cleanliness and 5S practically.

About you

• At least a Diploma in Sciences / Engineering or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Office Applications.
• Preferred prior experience in QC lab in manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience in operating analytical instruments.
• At least 2 years working experience.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English and Chinese (to liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders).
• Good understanding of manufacturing environment and laboratory safety.
• Good safety awareness.
• Fundamental Chemistry and Physics knowledge (e.g. understand periodic table).
• Fundamental knowledge about measurement and analytical equipment.
