Job description

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare piping material specifications, MTO, end connection fitting details, male connectors, JIC NPT, etc., for BWTS and Scrubber systems.
  2. Perform detailed engineering and design of new piping installations onboard ships.
  3. Generate detailed piping drawings for submission to Classification Society for approval and for onboard installation.
  4. Assist in laser scanning onboard and verify retrofit conditions of BWTS and Scrubber systems.
  5. Evaluate structural analysis, loading calculations, pressure drop/friction loss calculations, and drawings.
  6. Respond to Classification Society comments to expedite design approval.
  7. Prepare piping and pump specifications, including piping arrangement and support standards.
  8. Develop preliminary equipment layouts in engine room, pumps, and auxiliary rooms.
  9. Study project scope, schedule, basic design data, client specifications, drawings, and plot plans.
  10. Prepare piping information lists, layouts, and documentation following standard procedures.
  11. Provide field engineering support for piping installation and testing onboard.
  12. Offer technical and documentation support to customers.
  13. Coordinate with design subcontractors to ensure accurate delivery schedules and communicate updates to the project team and customers.
  14. Communicate with customers, principals, and involved parties during project execution to ensure service quality and customer satisfaction.
  15. Perform project/document control tasks.
  16. Design and engineer piping systems (preferred).
  17. Check onboard piping systems for BWTS or similar systems (preferred).
  18. Perform piping design calculations such as pipe sizing, wall thickness, pressure drop, pump head, etc.
  19. Prepare P&ID for marine piping systems.
  20. Review and update piping layouts and drawings.
  21. Interact with clients, class societies, and vendors, familiar with standards like ASME, API.
  22. Inspect incoming products, materials, or customer items, including measurements, nondestructive testing, and documentation.
  23. Conduct initial, in-process, and final inspections, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  24. Raise non-conformance reports as needed.
  25. Engage with customers and address their needs.
  26. Prepare test procedures and data books.
  27. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
