Quality Control Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities

This position is responsible for ensuring that our products and processes consistently meet established quality standards and customer specifications. You will play a vital part in identifying and resolving quality issues, contributing to our continuous improvement initiatives, and upholding our reputation for excellence.

1. Supplier Quality: Collaborate with the Purchasing & Mechanical Engineering department to evaluate and monitor the quality performance of suppliers/vendors. Conduct supplier audits and provide feedback to improve incoming material quality.

1. Inspection & Testing: Develop and implement inspection procedures for incoming mechanical materials, in-process production, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards, blueprints, and specifications.

2. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and corrective action logs. Generate regular quality performance reports for management review.

3. Process Monitoring: Monitor manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with established procedures, work instructions, and quality control plans. Identify opportunities for process optimization to reduce defects and improve efficiency.

4. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement equipment used in quality control.

5. Participate in internal and external quality audits (e.g., ISO 9001) to ensure compliance with quality management systems and relevant industry standards.

6. Customer Feedback: Support the investigation of customer complaints related to product quality and assist in implementing solutions to improve customer satisfaction.

7. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 8D problem-solving, and statistical process control (SPC).

Qualifications & Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Manufacturing) or a related technical field. Diploma with at least 5 years relevant working experience may apply.

2. Experience: At least 3 years of experience in Quality Control. (Mechanical)

3. Familiarity with relevant quality management system standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Knowledge of industry-specific standards (e.g. AS9100) is a significant advantage.

4. Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, tools, and techniques (e.g., SPC, MSA, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).

5. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

6. Hands-on experience with various measurement instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)

7. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
