Job summary
A food manufacturing company in Singapore seeks a Quality Assurance specialist. Key Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance (QA):
- Establish, implement, and update quality assurance procedures for all products.
- Ensure compliance with SFA regulations, Halal certification, and internal SOPs.
- Monitor hygiene and food safety standards across production, packing, and storage areas.
- Conduct regular audits and prepare documentation for external inspections and certifications (e.g., HACCP, Halal).
- Work with production teams to maintain product consistency and manage shelf-life testing.
Quality Control (QC):
- Inspect all incoming raw materials (e.g., vegetables, proteins, pastry ingredients) for quality and safety.
- Perform in-process checks during manufacturing (e.g., temperature control, weight accuracy, filling consistency, sealing).
- Conduct final product inspections before packing and delivery to ensure quality, appearance, and labelling accuracy.
- Monitor freezer/chiller temperatures and storage practices to prevent spoilage or contamination.
- Record and report defects or non-compliance issues and follow up with corrective actions.
Additional Duties:
- Support training of production staff on hygiene, food handling, and quality SOPs.
- Liaise with suppliers on raw material specifications and performance issues.
- Assist with product recalls or customer complaints when necessary.
- Work closely with operations and production to minimize wastage and improve process control.
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of QA/QC experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with RTE or frozen foods.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, Halal standards, and local food safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail, independent, and proactive.
- Comfortable working on the factory floor and in cold storage environments.
