Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Developed SOPs, WKIs, STMs, and related forms for microbiological testing.
  • Performed microbiological sampling and testing on compressed air, purified water, raw materials, packaging, in-process bulk, and finished goods.
  • Conducted MLT, MFT, Gram staining, microscopy, and microbial identification per international standards.
  • Carried out stability and Antimicrobial Efficacy Testing (AET) for existing and new products.
  • Performed environmental monitoring (air/swab), data trending, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintained ATCC reference live cultures.
  • Conducted Growth Promotion Tests (GPT) and Sterility Tests.
  • Coordinated outsourced testing with third-party laboratories.
  • Ensured timely release of microbiological test results.
  • Participated in validation activities for systems, sterilizers, and lab equipment, including protocol preparation and execution.
  • Supported cleaning validation, campaign verification, new product introduction, and CI projects.
  • Managed equipment calibration, verification, and maintenance.
  • Maintained adequate inventory of chemicals, media, parts, and lab consumables.
  • Ensured compliance with GLP, GMP, EHS, and company policies.
  • Maintained audit readiness at all times.
  • Presented monthly microbiological trends and results to management.
  • Trained and guided junior analysts.
  • Performed other duties as assigned by the QC Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in microbiological testing within cosmetics, food, nutrition, personal care, medical, medical devices, or pharmaceutical QC labs.
  • Solid understanding of GLP and GMP standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Advantageous to have experience with Halal, ISO 17025, ISO 22716, and LIMS systems.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Able to work systematically and perform well under pressure.
  • Mature, proactive, detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and quality-focused.
  • Meticulous and able to complete tasks promptly.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively.
