A leading company in lifestyle products located in Singapore is seeking a quality control analyst specializing in microbiological testing. The candidate will be responsible for developing SOPs, conducting tests, and ensuring compliance with GLP and GMP standards. Ideal applicants will have at least 3 years of experience in a quality control laboratory, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong communication skills. This position offers an opportunity to lead the testing process in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
· Developed SOP, WKI, STM (microbiological testing procedures), and forms.
· Perform sampling and microbiological testing on compressed air, purified water, incoming raw materials, incoming packaging materials, in-process bulk, and finished product.
· Perform Microbial Limit Test (MLT), Membrane Filtration Testing (MFT), Gram staining, microscopy, and microbe identification testing according to established international standards.
· Conduct stability testing and Antimicrobial Efficacy Testing (AET) on existing and new products.
· Perform environmental monitoring (air and swab tests), trending, analysis, and reporting.
· Maintenance of ATCC reference live cultures.
· Perform Growth Promotion Test (GPT) and Sterility Test.
· Liaise with 3rd party commercial testing laboratory for outsourced testing services.
· Release microbiological testing results on a timely basis.
· Participate in critical systems, sterilization equipment, and laboratory equipment qualification/validation/revalidation activities. Establish protocols and execution.
· Assist in production cleaning and sanitization validation, campaign run verification, new product introduction, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
· Equipment calibration, verification testing, and maintenance.
· Ensure adequate chemical or media inventories/spare/consumables of the equipment/testing.
· Ensure strict adherence to GLP, CMP, EHS standards, and company policies.
· Ensure all-time readiness for audit.
· Monthly trending and presentation of microbiological testing results to the management.
· Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior-level analysts within the department.
· Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
Requirements:
· Bachelor of Science (Microbiology or related discipline).
· Minimal 3 years’ experience with hands-on microbiological testing in cosmetics, food, nutritional, personal care, medical, medical devices, or pharmaceutical quality control laboratory.
· Good knowledge of GLP and GMP requirements.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
· Candidates with exposure to Halal, ISO 17025, ISO 22716, and LIMS will be an added advantage.
· Fluent in both oral and written English.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Systematic and able to work under pressure.
· Mature, proactive, attention to detail, well organized, analytical thinking, and quality-minded.
· Meticulous and able to follow through with tasks promptly.
· Able to work independently as well as in a team.
