Responsibilities:
• Developed SOPs, WKIs, STMs (microbiological testing procedures), and forms.
• Perform sampling and microbiological testing on compressed air, purified water, incoming raw materials, incoming packaging materials, in-process bulk, and finished products.
• Conduct Microbial Limit Tests (MLT), Membrane Filtration Tests (MFT), Gram staining, microscopy, and microbe identification testing according to established international standards.
• Execute stability testing and Antimicrobial Efficacy Testing (AET) on existing and new products.
• Carry out environmental monitoring (air and swab tests), trending, analysis, and reporting.
• Maintain ATCC reference live cultures.
• Conduct Growth Promotion Tests (GPT) and Sterility Tests.
• Liaise with third-party commercial testing laboratories for outsourced testing services.
• Release microbiological testing results on time.
• Participate in qualification, validation, and revalidation activities for critical systems, sterilization equipment, and laboratory equipment. Establish protocols and execute them.
• Assist in production cleaning and sanitization validation, campaign run verification, new product introduction, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Oversee equipment calibration, verification testing, and maintenance.
• Ensure adequate inventories of chemicals, media, spare parts, and consumables for equipment and testing.
• Ensure strict adherence to GLP, CMP, EHS standards, and company policies.
• Maintain readiness for audits at all times.
• Present monthly trends and microbiological testing results to management.
• Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior-level analysts within the department.
• Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Quality Control Manager.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science (Microbiology or related discipline).
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in microbiological testing in cosmetics, food, nutritional, personal care, medical, medical devices, or pharmaceutical quality control laboratories.
• Strong knowledge of GLP and GMP requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Candidates with exposure to Halal, ISO 17025, ISO 22716, and LIMS will have an added advantage.
• Fluent in both oral and written English.
