Job Scope:
The QC Executive is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet established safety and quality standards. This role involves overseeing quality control and assurance processes, implementing SOPs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in food safety management, SOP and policy creation, and hands-on experience in quality control enforcement with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
In-Line Quality Control and Product Inspections
Conduct daily in-process and finished product inspections to ensure conformity with defined quality standards and customer requirements.
Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and product quality parameters.
Identify and report non-conformities, deviations, or defects; assist in implementing corrective actions.
Perform sensory evaluation and physical testing of raw materials, intermediates, and final products.
Cleaning and Hygiene Monitoring
Oversee the strict implementation of scheduled and ad hoc cleaning procedures for equipment, food contact surfaces, and production zones.
Perform on-site hygiene checks, including visual inspections and swab testing (as applicable).
Monitor staff hygiene practices and ensure compliance with established protocols.
Verify and maintain cleaning checklists, sanitation records, and related hygiene documentation.
Pest Control Program Monitoring
Supervise and coordinate pest control activities with external service providers.
Check pest monitoring devices (e.g., bait stations, traps, ILTs), verify proper placement and maintenance.
Investigate any pest sightings and ensure effective and timely corrective actions are taken.
Keep accurate pest control logs and follow-up records for traceability.
GMP Compliance and On-Site Monitoring
Conduct regular checks to ensure full adherence to GMP guidelines (e.g., zoning, cross-contamination control, product handling, waste disposal).
Perform and document in-line quality checks for key parameters such as temperature, weight, packaging, labelling, and product integrity.
Collaborate with line leaders and production staff to resolve compliance issues immediately on the ground.
Reporting and Documentation
Generate accurate and timely reports on:
Product inspection results and quality trends
GMP compliance findings
Cleaning and hygiene verification records
Pest control monitoring results
Non-conformance and corrective action logs
Ensure proper filing and version control of records for traceability and audit readiness.
Present summarized findings to QA leadership for review, trend analysis, and decision-making.
Assist in preparing data and supporting documents for internal audits, external audits, and management reviews.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
Liaise with QA, production, and maintenance teams to address quality and hygiene concerns proactively.
Provide real-time feedback and coaching to floor staff to encourage ownership of product quality and hygiene.
Contribute to the development and refinement of quality procedures and SOPs.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in quality control or food hygiene roles.
Strong understanding of GMP, pest control best practices, HACCP, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 principles.
Strong observation skills, detail-oriented, and comfortable working on the production floor.
Proficient in recordkeeping and report writing using Microsoft Excel and Word; basic knowledge of data trend analysis is a plus.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across departments.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment with shift-based or rotational duties as needed.
