Overview

The Chemist has the technical responsibility for product development and modification of Cementitious Mortars for TM Refurbishment & Building Finishing.

Responsibilities
  1. Product development and modification for cementitious products targeting the engineered and residential refurbishment markets.
  2. Collaborate with other technology groups to provide inputs for product development and coordinate with regional/corporate technology centers.
  3. Conduct mortar application-related development or raw material evaluation.
  4. Perform chemical and physical tests for formulation or raw materials.
  5. Coordinate effectively with QC, production, tech services, and sales departments.
  6. Participate in new/alternate vendor development for product quality and cost optimization.
  7. Set up formulations for Sika toll manufacturing units.
  8. Develop product development plans aligned with market needs, in consultation with the R&D head.
  9. Specify production procedures in coordination with the production department.
  10. Maintain detailed technical records and databases.
  11. Provide training and supervision to technicians, mentoring and planning experiments and projects.
  12. Ensure safety and environmental compliance of raw materials and products.
  13. Safeguard confidential information and comply with company policies.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Masters or bachelor's degree in Chemistry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in product development within a chemical manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge of cement and mortars is helpful, including related raw material functions.
  • Familiarity with cement, concrete admixtures, and basic testing methods.
  • Experience handling analytical equipment and basic computer skills.
