Job summary

A leading company in the oil and gas sector is seeking a qualified inspector to oversee activities related to subsea wellhead rental tools in Singapore. The role involves witnessing inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with suppliers to maintain high-quality assurance standards. Required certifications include DS-1 Vol 3 & 4 standards and ASNT Level 2. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and inspection, particularly with drilling and well construction equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) surveillance inspections performed based on DS-1 Vol 3/4 standards on drill string, OCTG, and/or well construction equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inspection, assembly, and testing of subsea wellhead rental tools.
  • Document and photograph non-conformities during inspections.
  • Provide daily reports on quality management observations.

Job Description

  • To oversee activities based in Singapore for subsea wellhead rental tools (inspection, assembly, and testing).
  • Witnessing of inspection, assembly, and testing of drilling and completion equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards including but not limited to:
    • Drill String Inspection requirements
    • OCTG threading and make-up
    • Contractors' in-house procedures
    • Industry standards
    • COMPANY GROUP specific work instructions/standards.
  • Witnessing of equipment inspection, servicing, assembly, testing, and functional checks on:
    • Specialty rental tools such as downhole motors, MWD/LWD equipment, jars, reamers, circulating sub, cementing downhole tools, retrievable bridge plugs, storm valve, etc.
    • Liner hanger, tie-back, and running tools
    • Tress, wellhead, casing hanger, tubing hanger equipment, and running tools
    • Casing while drilling equipment and tools
    • Casing and tubing running and handling equipment - tongs, slips, elevators, etc.
    • Conductor driving equipment
    • Wireline surface equipment and downhole tools
    • Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), Pressurized Mud Cap Drilling (PMCD), and Downhole Deployment Valve (DDV) equipment
    • Wellbore cleanout equipment and tools
    • Completion equipment (SCSSV, Packers, Fluid Loss Valve, Downhole Gauges, Autofill subs, bridge/nipple profile plugs, circulating mandrel, chemical injection mandrel, gravel pack assemblies, etc.)
    • Surface and subsea well testing equipment and tools
    • Slickline surface equipment and downhole tools
    • Coiled tubing surface equipment and downhole tools
    • Stimulation and pumping equipment
    • Fishing and milling tools
  • Carry out surveillance inspection of critical manufacturing processes and product qualification, ensuring compliance with quality PSL and approved COMPANY/Vendor Quality Control Plan / Inspection Testing Plan, e.g., welding, cladding, PWHT, NDE, threading, coating, sub/final assembly, functional checks/testing for equipment including but not limited to:
    • Surface/subsea tree wellhead system and equipment
    • OCTG and threading
    • Upper and lower completion equipment, sand control/sand face completion equipment
    • Liner hanger, tie-back, and PBR equipment
  • Document and photograph issues and non-conformities identified during processes.
  • Coordinate inspections driven by COMPANY contract management over inspected suppliers/auditees.
  • Recommend minimum inspection criteria based on COMPANY audit outcomes.
  • Coach and audit on major Oil and Gas standards (e.g., API Q1, API Q2, and other international standards).
  • Exclude investigations solely owned by the supplier for design, manufacturing, and lifecycle of materials, equipment, and services procured by the Company.
  • Report observations of quality cycle waste, including rework and non-managed changes causing delays, within 48 hours.
  • Provide daily reports on surveillance inspections, non-conformities, and major concerns to the COMPANY's quality management engineer.

Qualification/Skills

  • Inspectors must be certified with valid DS-1 Vol 3 & 4 standards and ASNT Level 2 certifications.
  • Minimum of five (5) surveillance inspections performed based on DS-1 Vol 3/4 standards on drill string, OCTG, and/or well construction equipment.
