Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Conduct visual inspections of welding and fabrication work in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, API).
  2. Verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and ensure compliance with the Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
  3. Perform fit-up, in-process, and final weld inspections using appropriate tools and techniques.
  4. Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and documentation for quality records and audits.
  5. Monitor and ensure that all materials and equipment used meet the required quality standards and are traceable.
  6. Monitor Punchlist items.
  7. Review Manufacturers' data books.
  8. Liaise with third-party inspectors, clients, and contractors to resolve quality issues and coordinate inspection activities.
  9. Ensure compliance with project quality plans, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and QA/QC procedures.
  10. Identify and report quality-related problems and participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
  11. Support audits and contribute to the continual improvement of the QA/QC system.
  12. Ensure safe work practices are followed during inspections.
Qualifications
  1. CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2 Certification (mandatory).
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in QA/QC inspection in the oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, MIG/MAG, etc.) and NDT techniques.
  4. Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and project documentation control.
  5. Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills.
  6. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications.
  7. Ability to prepare quality documents such as ITP, Quality Plan, NDE Procedures, etc.
  8. Knowledge of different internal codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, DNV Rules, ABS rules, LR Rules.
  9. Knowledge/background on painting inspection.
  10. Knowledge of Pumps and Generators is an advantage.
