Utami Foods is a newly established central kitchen, food manufacturing, and food trading company, incorporated to support our food retail operations and beyond. We are building our operations from the ground up with a strong commitment to culinary excellence.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Executive to join our pioneering team. This role is critical in establishing and maintaining robust quality and food safety systems from day one. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring all our food products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, Halal requirements, and regulatory compliance (SFA), contributing directly to our brand's reputation and customer trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Safety Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) plans and other food safety programs.
- Conduct regular internal audits and inspections of production processes, raw materials, finished products, and facilities to ensure adherence to food safety standards (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or local regulations).
- Manage and investigate customer complaints related to product quality and safety, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and operational prerequisite programs (OPRPs).
- Investigate and resolve non-compliance issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Quality Control & Assurance:
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures for all stages of production, from raw material receiving to finished product dispatch (including process flowcharts and layouts)
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality assurance activities.
- Conduct sensory, physical, and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products.
- Maintain accurate records of all QA activities, test results, and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
- Develop and implement effective sampling for raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international food safety regulations and industry standards, including Halal certification requirements.
- Prepare for and participate in external audits (e.g., regulatory, certification, customer audits).
- Manage and maintain all quality and food safety documentation, including manuals, procedures, forms, and records.
- Liaise with local and other countries' authorities for importation and exportation issues.
- Training & Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct training sessions for production staff on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality and food safety processes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, regulations, and best practices in food manufacturing and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Control within the food manufacturing or central kitchen industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GHP (Good Hygiene Practices), and other food safety management systems.
- Familiarity with relevant local food regulations (e.g., SFA regulations in Singapore) and international standards (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Halal certification processes and requirements is essential. Successful candidates will be required to undergo Halal Competency Assessment (HCA) if they do not possess one.
- Experience with internal auditing and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, startup environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other QA management software.

Working Hours & Location:
- 5-day work week (9am - 6pm)
- Near Tai Seng MRT
- Availability from July 2025 is preferred.
