Responsibilities
Mechanical
Prepares list of daily job activities and provides clear job instructions before delegating the jobs to subordinates.
Supervises job coordination, monitors conformity towards quality, environmental and safety management system policies and procedures.
Monitors and ensures all mechanical works are carried out according to the latest revision mechanical drawing and comply with contract specifications, class requirements and quality management system.
Arranges, coordinates and carries out all the inspections and testing with customer representatives and/or classification surveyors as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
Performs material equipment incoming as per Vendor document;
Verifies tools and equipment used are as per procedures;
Familiarizes with mechanical inspection process;
Verifies NDT are done as per approved NDT plan & procedures.
Verifies preservation is being performed as per preservation plan & procedures.
Monitors the progress of work and reports the status of completion of the official inspections such as accepted, rejected, postponed or cancelled to the respective project manager.
Prepares, reviews and documents inspection records, certificates and NDT reports for submission to relevant parties.
Checks and endorses inspection records prior to issue to customers.
Ensures subordinates comply with company’s procedures and work instructions.
Reports any non-conformance (NC) and issues corrective action requests (CAR), where necessary.
Ensures response timings for NC/CAR are within acceptance periods;
Ensures close-out responses for NC/CAR are of sound reasoning and evidence.
Maintains good relationships with customers to fulfill part of company’s core value to ensure customer satisfaction.
Implements and compiles the monthly key performance indicators (KPI) related to mechanical.
Verifies mechanical MDR is as per construction prior to release of the product back to Singapore.
Conducts and participates in audits.
Dimension Controller
Implements dimensional control methods and procedures throughout the fabrication and integration process of the modules to meet the requirements of project specifications and codes.
Conducts dimensional checking using latest electronic total stations before and after welding of the main deck frame and main column of the modules to ensure that the dimensions are within specifications.
Reviews design drawings, performs necessary best fit calculations, prepares professional dimensional control reports using AutoCAD and obtains approval from clients and/or certifying authority.
Maintains dimensional survey equipment and keeps proper documentation of dimensional control reports to meet project requirements and QA/QC audit standards.
Gives guidance and advice to sub-contractors on how they can increase their productivity.
Liaises with key stakeholders including clients on the dimensional control methods and acceptance criteria in accordance with project requirements.
Prepares and compiles final dimensional control survey reports as part of the final documentation report.
Electrical
Takes charge of projects, coordinates and carries out all E& I QA/QC activities for the projects including hazardous zone equipment’s inspection (ATEX/CompEx/IECEx Certified).
Reviews and evaluates the drawings as per Classification Societies and Client’s requirements.
Prepares the QA procedures and gets them approved with Classification Societies and Clients.
Watches the testing of HV/LV circuit breaker/starter, neutral earthing resistor/fuses and cable megger-ing.
Coordinates all termination inspections of electrical installations of equipment.
Prepares electrical or mechanical completion for equipment.
Carries out the inspection and testing with Class Surveyors and Class Representatives.
Ensures all quality control documents are compiled and the information is handed over for as-built.

Coating
Good knowledge of all international surface preparation standards, painting/coating application standards, inspection standards, contract specifications, material technical data sheets, material safety data sheets, documentation etc.
Watches prequalification of painting system, painter, blaster and adhesion testing subjected for project approval before commencement of painting activities.
Coordinates incoming coating materials (e.g. paints, thinners, abrasives etc) conditions, data sheets and batch certificates in accordance with project requirements.
Inspects correct type of blasting equipment and tools to be used to meet the paint quality according to the paint specifications.
Inspects pre-cleaning or solvent cleaning of surface, metal surface imperfections/defects, surface profile of blast cleaned surface using right inspection tools.
Assesses surface cleanliness soluble salt contamination on blast-cleaned surface and related tests such as pull-off test & reports.
Able to handle painting inspections in blasting and painting inspection of tank coatings, ship hull painting, and structural items.
Coordinates Request for Inspection (RFI) to third party and client paint inspectors on hold point and witness point as per project inspection test plan (ITP).
Able to send enquiries to Paint manufacturers for Painting Specification in accordance with project requirements and secure quality document for painting; Inspection & Test plan, blasting and coating procedure.
Ensures calibration certificates of painting instruments are valid & available for reference.
Supervises the workplace and workers' safety.
Ensures coating is practical and in accordance with the specified requirements by preparing or reviewing drawings, specifications, job instructions and material selection notes etc.
Reviews Inspection Test Plan (ITP) as per project specification and procedures.
Coordinates and performs Coating inspection of structural, piping and outfit works etc. of the assigned project as per approved ITP.
Monitors all painting/coating related works and ensures all final products meet project specification requirements.
Conducts surveillance inspection of surface preparation, paint mixing, WFT, DFT adhesion and curing of paints.
Coordinates with yard QA/QC team for all quality documentation submission to SCM with the construction completion.
Conducts onsite audits as per relevant specifications and customer requirements.
Structural
Takes charge of project and carries out all QA functions for the assigned project.

Monitors and ensures all piping works are carried out according to the latest revision piping drawing and comply with contract specifications, class requirements and quality management system.
Coordinates all the inspections and testing with customer representatives and/or classification surveyors as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
Materials verification done with the specified mill certificates and codes;
PMI testing on incoming, welder materials;
Verifies materials used on sites are approved project materials;
Familiarizes with piping inspection process;
Verifies NDT are done as per approved NDT plan & procedures.

Ensures project documents including inspection, traceability records, certificates, radiography films, and NDT reports are submitted to relevant parties for signing.
Checks and endorses inspection records prior to issue to customers.
Ensures subordinates comply with company’s procedures and work instructions.
Reports any non-conformance (NC) and issues corrective action requests (CAR), where necessary.
Ensures response timings for NC/CAR are within acceptance periods;
Ensures close-out responses for NC/CAR are of sound reasoning and evidence.
Coordinates with yard QA/QC team for all Quality documentation submission to SCM with the construction completion.

Verifies piping MDR is as per construction prior to release of the product back to Singapore.
Conducts and participates in audits.
Performs other duties as assigned by the superior(s) from time to time.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Marine and Offshore or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in shipbuilding/oil and gas/offshore projects as QA/QC Structural Inspector.
Working in FPSO/FSO/FPU Project will be an added advantage.
Shall be familiar with AWS D1.1, API 2X, ASME Section II, and ABS Class rules.
Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1)
NDT Level II in RT/UT/MPI/PT
