Job summary

Minor Hotels, opening Avani Singapore, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement from the ground up. You willSource, negotiate, and manage supplier partnerships to ensure cost efficiency and quality while aligning with brand standards.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will establish procurement controls, partner with hotel departments, and drive the sourcing strategy for pre-opening and ongoing operations in Singapore.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management or Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years as Purchasing Manager or similar procurement leadership role in hospitality.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills; experience sourcing for hotel operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-opening procurement workstream: supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, OS&E, and purchasing processes.
• Build a reliable network of suppliers and service providers for opening and ongoing operations.
• Negotiate competitive agreements while maintaining quality and brand standards.
• Forecast requirements with operational teams and monitor inventory levels for readiness.
• Manage purchase requests, POs, and supplier performance per company policies.
• Support Finance Director with procurement controls and cost management initiatives.
• Monitor market pricing and supplier competitiveness to maximise value.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, ethics, and local regulations.

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Purchasing Manager to lead the hotel's procurement activities through pre-opening and beyond. Reporting to the Director of Finance , you will be responsible for sourcing, supplier management, procurement controls, and ensuring the hotel receives the best quality products and services while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance.

What You'll Do

• Lead the procurement pre-opening workstream, including supplier sourcing, contract negotiations, OS&E procurement, operational supplies setup, and purchasing process implementation
• Build and establish a reliable network of suppliers, service providers, and business partners to support the hotel's opening and ongoing operations
• Source, negotiate, and secure competitive agreements for goods and services while maintaining quality and brand standards
• Partner with operational departments to forecast requirements, monitor inventory levels, and support operational readiness
• Manage purchase requests, purchase orders, and supplier performance in accordance with company policies
• Support the Director of Finance in maintaining procurement controls, governance processes, and cost management initiatives
• Monitor market pricing, supplier competitiveness, and product availability to maximise value for the business
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and local regulations

What We're Looking For

• Degree or Diploma in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, Accounting, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar procurement leadership role within hospitality
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and procurement administration skills<li>Experience sourcing operational supplies, equipment, and services for hotel operations</li>
• Pre-opening hotel experience is strongly preferred
• Strong network of suppliers, vendors, and service providers within Singapore would be highly advantageous
• Knowledge of Singapore procurement practices, sourcing landscape, and supplier ecosystem
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Commercially minded with strong attention to detail and cost control
• Fluent in English
